PETALING JAYA – In conjunction of World Cancer Day on 4 February, Columbia Asia Hospital (CAH) has organized a charity bowling event at Wangsa Bowl, 1Utama Shopping Centre on February 15, 2020. The charity bowling event, Strike Out Cancer 2.0, is to create awareness and raise funds to combat Cancer.
The event is participated by 24 teams consist of corporate clients, members of media and cancer survivors from Breast Cancer Welfare Association (BCWA). The charity bowling event was attended by Chief Executive Officer Columbia Asia – Southeast Asia, Mr Kelvin Tan. Present with the Regional General Manager of Columbia Asia Hospital, Ms Engku Marina Engku Hatim.
“We see this fun charity bowling event as the perfect platform to continuously support, fight and create awareness on cancer to the public. Symbolically, I believe this tournament speaks the best where participants pulled out quality strikes on the lane, representing our fights for cancer, hence the name of Strike Out Cancer is selected” says Ms Engku Marina. “The need to have early detection and to ensure that we at Columbia Asia Hospital work with the community towards such cause. I couldn’t be prouder of the steps and progress we’ve taken over the past years in fighting for cancer”, Ms Engku Marina added.
To bring up the spirit of World Cancer Month, winners are entitled to receive an amount of RM1100, second prize of RM950, third prize of RM 750, and Best Dress Group entitled to receive RM200. BCWA has been named as beneficiary, they provide care by improving the quality of life for women with breast cancer, providing public education, early detection of breast cancer and medical treatment. Accepting mock cheques on behalf of the organization is Breast Cancer Welfare Association (BCWA) Exco Member, Ms Chang Chu San. BCWA received RM 5,000 from this event to enhance their causes.
