Laser Varicose Vein

Laser Varicose Vein

What is Varicose Veins?

Varicose veins are the veins that can be seen on the leg such as bulges of veins, lumpy veins. Essentially it is caused by increased pressure in the vein itself. The function of the vein is to bring the blood up from the leg back to the heart against gravity.

So, most of the time we are standing, gravity will pull the blood down to the legs. The blood is flowing backwards, which subsequently leads to varicose veins that you can see as the bulges of the veins.

Symptoms of Varicose Veins

The common sign and symptom of varicose veins is aches or pain in the legs, that is usually worse throughout the day, usually in the evening after one tends to stand or walk for a long time. The other symptoms are actually legs swellings. When this gets progressively worse, the skin becomes dry, becomes itchy and patients tend to scratch a lot.

Occasionally they can also have sensation like burning sensation in the legs, and ultimately ulcers will develop in the leg. These ulcers are very difficult to heal unless the veins are treated.

Laser Varicose Vein Treatment

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit, sed diam nonummy nibh euismod

Laser Varicose Vein Treatment, also known as Endovenous Laser Therapy (EVLT), is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat varicose veins. It involves the use of laser energy to seal off faulty veins, redirecting blood flow to healthier veins.

The procedure involves inserting a thin laser fiber into the affected vein through a small incision. Laser energy is then delivered to heat and close the vein, causing it to shrink and eventually be absorbed by the body.

Step 1

The laser fiber is inserted in the centre of the hemorrhoids under direct vision.
Step 2

Each haemorrhoids is shrunk from within in a controlled manner, by means of laser energy. Blood supply to the enlarged haemorrhoids is cut off.

Haemorrhoids shrink and slowly regress as a result of the treatment.

EVLT offers several advantages over traditional vein stripping surgery, including less pain, shorter recovery time, and minimal scarring.

Benefits of Laser Varicose Vein Treatment

Minimally Invasive

Performed on an outpatient basis with local anesthesia, EVLT requires only small incisions and causes minimal trauma to surrounding tissues.

Reduced Pain and Discomfort

Patients experience less pain during and after the procedure compared to traditional surgery, with most reporting only mild discomfort.

Quick Recovery

Most patients can return to normal activities within a day or two, with no need for a lengthy recovery period.

Effective and Safe

EVLT is highly effective at eliminating varicose veins, with a low risk of complications and high patient satisfaction rates.
